Stick placement & ash: Use one incense stick at a time in a hole that holds its unlit end securely. Do not force a stick into a smaller opening. Place a larger, heat-resistant ash-catching dish underneath if ash can fall outside the vessel, particularly with 8-inch (21 cm) sticks.
